If I had to give this Gilboa week a name, I would call it the week of youth empowerment and collaborative creation.
This week chanichimot continued to work on creating a loving, positive community within their kvutza (age group) and as a whole machaneh (camp). They used entire chofeshim (free time) to build whole structures around machaneh (rivers, dams, rehabilitation spaces for wounded bees) - engaging with our natural environment and collaborating among different age groups. They went on an overnight tiyul (hike) and supported each other in the new experience and in putting together a new, temporary living space.
And yesterday, as a community of young people (no madrichimot involved - it was a day fully planned by the madatz - the CITs, and supported by our 9th and 10th graders), they were all part in the creation of a full day experience, as they traveled back in time to the 80s, engaged with the punk and disco cultures and explored through them the creation of movements and deeper understandings of society and interactions within it. More on that coming soon.
Going on Tiyul!
Welcome to the 80s
