Amelim PISH

Today, at our PISH (peulat shichcah - age group activity), our madrichim (counselors) sent us to find candy. We were all very surprised. We started searching. We made a big mess at the costume corner, as we were looking for candy inside the costume boxes. There was candy everywhere - even on the piano. Then we took our candy and we put all of it in the middle of the table.

Adina, our madricha, asked "what is your idea about how to divide the candy?".  There was enough for everyone plus some more, and there were different kinds of candy, so had had to come up with a a few ideas. We considered what people liked and also how to make it fair. We had to find a compromise that mashed many of the ideas people in our kvutza had. We reached compromise by talking about it and voting. Here is our compromise: Since there was extra candy, we each got to have one, we split according to kind of candy and each person in the groups got their first choice.  Then we went back to our original groups and we wrote down how we compromise at home and how we compromise at Gilboa. Then we shared. One person wrote down that they never have to argue because he's an only child. Someone else said that she has three siblings and it's really hard to compromise. She said that she likes it at Gilboa because everyone gets to have a fair share.
